Dr. Prasad Kavatekar

Dr. Prasad Kavatekar is a leading Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist, Laparoscopic & Colorectal Surgeon from Karnataka. Passionate for advanced laparoscopy, HPB surgeries & Bariatric surgeries, Dr. Prasad Kavatekar is interested in Laparoscopy, Bariatric surgeries & Hepatobiliary surgeries.

He completed his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from J S S Medical College, Mysore in 2003. His MS (General Surgery) was accomplished from Government Bangalore medical college & Research Institute, affiliated to RGUHS Bangalore in 2007. Simultaneously Dr. Prasad Kavatekar worked as an Assistant Professor in Dept. of General Surgery in Vinayaka Mission Medical College in Karaikal (Pondichery) for seven months.

Super speciality course in Surgical Gastroenterology was completed in 2011 from Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG, Hyderabad), after which he obtained Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in Colorectal Surgery from the prestigious institute, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) Lucknow.

Dr. Prasad Kavatekar joined Sahyadri Narayana Health in December 2012 immediately after completing his medical education.

He has strong academic and research interest and likes to teach and train his companions and juniors. He regularly attends various national and state conferences where he has presented many posters and oral papers.

Dr Prasad Kavatekar is a life time member of Indian Medical Association (IMA) & Association of Surgeons of India (ASI).
